Ann Summa

One of the most 'beautiful phrases that have never been spoken on the punk (or punk-rock, as we like to call it again with necklace) and' sack of flour from one of our friends' close.
Tiberio said in a conference held in Milan in November 2005 in Cox 18: "What left me punk? What do I have left? Nothing ... The punk I was not ever left, there I still have it inside. "
The sentence 'reported -' cause everyone can read it - on page 104 of volume "Enlightenment of punk," author Mark Philopat, published in 2006 by agency X.
We were in the room that night when it was delivered and - at a distance five years since that event - remember it as exciting as ever.
Few words but those of us deeply impressed because Tiberius 'so' feel, so 'sincere, so' impossible to improve.
been able to say we wanted them, so 'close to what' we try to still more 'than thirty years since "punk" happened and we saw involved.

is precisely those words that come to mind browsing through the wonderful book "The Beautiful And The Damned : Punk Photography by Ann Summa " published recently in the United States. Select
by Kristine McKenna and with a foreword by Exene Cervenka of X, the volume is a collection of beautiful images taken by photographer Ann Summa in Los Angeles between 1978 and 1984: Darby Crash, Jeffrey Lee Pierce and the Gun Club, Lux Interior, Joe Strummer, Johnny Rotten, Ari Up, Exene are some of the same names that we wish to mention here.

We know that that world no longer exists', that some of those players are far away, others have aged and changed forever.
But we, literally, we do not care, 'cause "... the punk there has never left. We've still inside."
for eternity '.

David Harvey: The Crisis of Capitalism (Animated)

Encyclopedia Britannica ARTICLES

Capitalism Economic system in which most of the means of production are privately owned and production is guided and income distributed largely through the operation of the market. Capitalism has been dominant in the Western world since the end of mercantilism. E 'was promoted by the Reformation, which sanctioned hard work and frugality, and industry growth during the Industrial Revolution, especially the English textile industry (16th-18th centuries). Unlike earlier systems, capitalism used the excess of production over consumption to enlarge productive capacity rather than invest in economically unproductive enterprises such as palaces and cathedrals. The mercantilist era had been strong national social conditions, such as uniform monetary systems and codes, which are necessary for the emergence of capitalism. The ideology of classical capitalism was expressed in Adam Smith, Wealth of Nations (1776), Smith and free market theories were widely adopted in the 19th century. In the 20th century, the Great Depression effectively ended the laissez-faire economics in most countries, but the collapse of the state economies of Eastern Europe and former Soviet Union (see communism) and the adoption of some free market principles China in his left capitalism unrivaled (if not disturbed) marked the beginning of the 21st century.

when China will become number one?

Budget Planner Interactive-Mint.com

China has surpassed Japan as the second largest economy in the world, now second only to that of the GDP of the Member USA.
The news was shocking: economists had predicted that this could happen for a while 'time. But it still served as a wake-up call to the fact that emerging economies are growing at a much faster rate than developed countries.
Sure, the U.S. is still the world leader in terms of GDP (note that we are talking about GDP, not GDP per capita), but for how long?
The simplest estimate we have found so far is this Global Economics Paper published by Goldman Sachs (GS) in March 2007. Although more than three years, his predictions are surprisingly accurate. The paper compares the estimates of GDP for 22 countries in the past five years, starting from actual data for 2006 and through 2050. It is estimated China's GDP in 2010 to $ 4,667,000,000, compared with $ 4,604,000,000 for Japan.
Regarding the question posed above, the answer is 2030 and since then, China's GDP is 25.61 trillion U.S. dollars, according to the paper by Goldman, while the U.S. will be $ 22,817,000,000.
For a visual presentation of GDP growth over the next 40 years, take a look at our interactive infographic above. And if those numbers seem incredibly high growth rates, keep in mind that you are looking at a period long enough. In India, the cumulative growth of GDP is 2,899%, for example, making India the economy's fastest growing in the world in terms of GDP. For more details, as well as the numbers of per capita GDP, see Global Economics Paper.

After Prom In The Poconos

Frazey Ford

When, before long, it will be 'time to take stock of new music releases this year, we will not make any effort to celebrate between our "new releases" favorites of 2010 " Obadiah," the solo album of Canadian Frazey Ford (already 'very respectable member of the Be Good Tanyas).
There are reasons both musically (a lot) that have made it personal ', which - since its release took place last summer - this record has often been heard in "repeat mode".

The first sums up Ben Raitliff writing in the New York Times: " The Canadian singer Frazey Ford and her band Have figured out a cumulative average from the sounds of two old records: Al Green's" Let's Stay Together "and Neil Young's "Harvest." Two albums released Within two weeks of Each Other in 1972. Memphis soul and Northern California folk-rock: not too far apart from Each Other, as it turns out.
'Obadiah' is a cross between magic and unique atmosphere - only in appearance - apart: the soul and the music "roots" that live here in an exemplary manner, blending in perfect harmony to the joy and delight of those who has ears to hear.
On the second, we will attach to this record forever, and the decisive 'was lucky enough to listen (both album and live) in the company of a person - far today - who are deeply and inextricably in a relationship of complicity 'and understanding and that' hard to get in life. Every time the needle or the laser beam falls on the first track, like magic, we are again close, curious, eager face and intense experiences.

"Obadiah" and 'one of the best beginnings emerged a long time, pure honey for the soul.
